Mercedes 220D engine
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:05:36 PM »
I am now the proud owner (by chance) of a Mercedes 220D 4 cylinder diesel engine. Nice little engine made in Stuttgart. It is mounted in a craddle with the transmission attached. All the fittings, a spare used tranny and some new in the box spares included. It came out of a 1970,71? model 115 car. It has  been stored in a wood shed since the 1980's.  I want to do a little work to before starting it up. It would make a nice stationary power plant as is. Alternative fuels optional with a $400.00 USD kit. Not really sure if it would be suitable for a 109 Land Rover.  -David

1972 Mercedes 220D - sound of OM615 diesel engine  (not mine, in fact it looks a little different)

I have a small basic manual for the 220d, but I don't have a manual for a 240d.

I see that  Series trek  made an adapter for a 240d. Would it be the same as the 220d?

I don't know if they sell the adapter or not.   -d.
