Title: Help from the Land Rover dealer
Post by: BenP on November 26, 2019, 06:43:40 PM
In my quest for a set of wheels for my 90, while waiting for shipping quotes from various parts suppliers, I called the nearest Land Rover dealer, thinking they may have steel wheels for winter tires for a Disco 1 (which would fit).  After a brief silence, the parts man said ‘I don’t think Land Rover made steel wheels for any of their models’.   Land Rover - lost in a swamp of ‘plushies’. So far from their roots.

The dealers ships don’t even want to work with you unless you have a part number or a vin number .

I have the same problem dealing with my ram truck . I went in to order a oil filter from them because the after market ones don’t have the same thread as the factory ones . My engine is a Cummins and I only order Cummins filter which I need to get at the dealer .

WOW. That really sad.

Now... can you imagine the reaction I got when I drove to the dealer in my 1968 IIa, asking if they knew if we had a LR Club in the Quebec City region. hehehe  :twothumbs
