Just bumping up this great thread:
I've been using Brutus non-stop all summer for all kinds of work. Moved my shop and all of our worldly possessions with a a Uhaul trailer, moved my lathe, boats, cars, vans, hay, feed, wood, gravel, crushed stone, steel, etc. Even drove it to a wedding (in a tux), not to mention the 5000 mile trip to Utah.
I towed about 600 kms this last weekend. I drove down to Jay NY to pickup some metalworking equipment (8000 lbs total - I didn't get a photo) and towed home a friend's 4 runner on Monday night. The 4 runner is lighter than the milling machine I picked up!!!
Photo of Brutus towing the victim back to the lab. 98 4 Runner with a bellhousing that literally exploded due to a broken driveshaft. That is unfortunately a borrowed trailer, I need to build one, they are so handy.
Sorry about the blurry photo!

Utah was great, Ben Smith and I drove out, he drove Dora, I drove Brutus. Great trip, we were gone 11 days, we did Hell's Revenge, Porcupine Rim trail, and Fins and Things. The traction is unbelievable, like off-roading on 220# sandpaper.

Here's the first job for the new capstan winch: yarding pine logs felled at the end of the drive.

Hydraulic powerpack hiding under plastic cover. Sno-Way plows have the hydraulics located onthe plow so when you unclip, everything goes with the plow.

JL; Is that an electric/hydraulic system running off the truck battery?
