Hello,  I posted this in the intro section also.

like the title says, I am visiting N.S near bridgewater.  I have a 2005 range rover and I need to change the rear knuckle bushings asap .   Is there a good garages that is equipped with the tools to do this jod NEAR bridgewater?  Or is my only option the dealer in halifax .
The has to be some goos small shops out there. Any advise appreciated

Thanks

Hello,

I am nearby but have no knowlege of new Rovers. Series guy.
There are a few good shops around but if specific tools are required I doubt anyone in the South Shore will have them.
I'll try to contact a member, Tony Smith, lilmul, who is a Rover mechanic, perhaps he can tell me if there is a specialized tool required.

Where exactly are you, I'm in Riverport, at the mouth of the LaHave River.

Best Cheers

Hello again,

Just spoke to Tony.
The bushings should be a simple press fit, any good shop can do it.
But the parts themselves may take a bit to get.
The numbers Tony had were,...

Upper - RHF500100G
Lower - RBK500220

Both are in stock at Atlantic British who could do a next day courier shipment.
Or perhaps LR Halifax will have them.

Perhaps you're in Kingsburg staying in one of my houses!
Well not mine really, I'm just a rather possessive designer / builder.

Cheers

Peter,

thanks for your reply, very appreciated .   I am staying right in bridgewater but will be going to lunenberg in a few days. Is there a way I can post pictures on this website ?   I have a few diagrams of the tools to install the parts.

I dont want to bother you to much with this but if the mechanic you spoke with is quite confident the work can be done at the shop maybe I will give it a shot, the other thing is that the rear alignment is altered when these knuckle bushing's are removed so I would need a 4 wheel alignment. Is the shop set up for this work .  Worst case, I have a alignment done at canadian tire after the work.

I could order the parts in halifax, I would expect them to stock the parts since they are a common item to replace.

thanks again

Hi,

If you're right in Bridgewater I would try Valley Tire in the industrial park.
They can also do the alignment.

You cap post pictures a few ways....

Add them as an attachment,
Click on "Additional Options" below the text box.

Or if you want the pictures to appear inline with your text you can add a picture tag using the button bar above.

The last and by far the easiest is to use a little program I wrote called Zap which will resize, upload and add the inline tag from and picture you can "copy". Sadly the install is a bit big as it needs to install Microsoft Framework on some computers.
It's here http://www.maritimerovers.org/smf/index.php/topic,1812.0.html

Cheers

Hi There

I finally got online again using my wifes puter (the Goddess) mine is dead again

From looking at the actual bushing at Atlantic British you may be able to just use a regular bearing press.

I dont have my Rave working at the moment and cant tell you if there are any special tooling required.

I have chganged the rear bushings on a LR3 with my Ball joint tool with no problems.

If you need any help what so ever please dont hesitate to send me a PM or call me at home

thank you both for your help on this.

I hope the pics work.

I could probably drive it like this till I get home but I am getting bad cupping on the rear tires and would like to avoid ruining them. Tony, would you be willing to do this if I ordered the parts?  It may just be easiest to take to dealer but let me know what you think anyway.

heres those pics I got on www.rangerovers.net   .
