The information has been sent to Pete so that the registration page can be put up. All the planning is going well and will be held on Isle Madame as previously announced.

Here is some info so people can plan to attend, while the registration page is being prepared:

Annual Labour Day Rally.
Isle Madame, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
September 3 - 6, 2009

This years MORE Labour Day Rally will encompass two days of various degrees of off-roading on Isle Madame. Base camp will be located on the southern side of Arichat, one of the oldest communities in all Nova Scotia. Arichat was established in 1713, saw rapid economic growth and in 1801 became an international trading port. Arichat is home to some of the prettiest scenery along the Fleur-de-Lis trail and offers a rocky coastline, inlets and coves. Arichat is home to beautiful beaches and the LeNoir Forge Museum, a restored 18th century French stone blacksmith shop.

The event includes great prizes from numerous sponsors and a social atmosphere that is suitable for all ages. There is never a shortage of stories but new ones are always welcome at the campfire or under canvas when taking shelter from the rain.

Meals

All meals for the weekend are provided, however, there is no provision for vegetarian or other specific meal needs.

Accommodations

Camping on site is free, with limited power.
Full washroom and showers at Base camp will be available. Be sure to bring your own towels and toiletries.

Base Camp (Robins Cottages) are all booked by the club to use as the base camp so please do not contact them. Thanks!

Other accommodations include: (less than 5min from Base Camp)

Another history tidbit about Isle Madame was that St F X University started out in Arichat in 1853 and moved to Antigonish in 1855.

I don't know if my Disco will be in any shape to go, but I would like to if anyone from the Halifax area would be wiling to put up with my chatter and picture taking?  If I win the lottery and am able to get stuff fixed on my truck I'll bring it but would like to secure a seat just in case.  And I'd like to pay for the registration ASAP so if something else comes up I can deny it because I'm locked in!!

That is always a good strategy in my book.   "But you agreed and I paid the money, do you really want me to throw out the $registration_fee?"

If you are planning on booking a room at L'Auberge (link on the registration page) book soon because they fill up fast. Tell them you are coming for the "Land Rover Event". Also they only have two rooms left that will accept dogs.

Tents and Bolers are fine on sight but if you have anything else please clear it with me prior. Also note that if you have a dog they are not permitted to be inside the cabins, and you will have to clean up after them.

Reminder that full bathroom facilities are available but bring your own toiletries and towels.

If you are coming please register soon so further planning can be done for food etc.  T-Shirts are ordered based on the registration so don't be disappointed.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
