It is getting close to that time of year and the big question is on everyone's mind.......Moose Trophy 2010!!!
Well John, there is nothing like inviting myself!  I need to book some time off work        Things have been very busy and very stressful  so I need to get my truck out and get it muddy and dirty!  You know....relaxing stuff!  Actually, I need to get Tony to do some work to it first
So, can you give me the down and dirty details?  Also, let me know what I can do to help out.

OK, last year when I asked if Moose was on Memorial Day or Victoria Day, not realizing that US and Canadian holidays weren't universal, I got told it was the Weekend of the 15-18th May, and the tone of the reply implied that it wasn't on any Official holiday weekend. So this year I have been making plans for the 14-17th May (No I didn't check a Canadian calendar).    Susannah is already away that weekend so it looked to be working out perfectly.

Now, even though Work hasn't finalized the dates of my sea-time in May, I just know it's going to clash with the Moose and upset all my plans.

Thanks John.  I hope you are feeling better soon!  The cold/flu going around is pretty brutal so please take care of yourself.
See you soon!

I'm trying to get everything ready for the Moose this year.      If I can just keep my work schedule in check I should be all set to make it.
I spent most of sunday inspecting the under side of my Rover, and strangely, although I know I wash it a couple of times a year I am still finding red Nova Scotia  mud packed into all the usual places.
I'm currently working on replacing the front crank oil seal to try and control some of the oil loss. So far I have only managed to get as far as removing the front pulley with the very kind help of Jim (ME) who came over with his air compressor and impact wrench when I couldn't remove the capstan drive dog by hand. Hopefully the rest of the job will go a little quicker once I can get back out to the garage.

Neil.

Ok  the down and dirty on the Moose.
As before it is the Victoria Day weekend.
Registration will begin Friday afternoon.
We will have supper at the Chinese Restaurant at the Greenwood Mall in the outside access section at approx 7.30.
Saturday breakfast will be at the Kingston Diner starting at 8.00.
Registration will continue at the farm at 9:30
we head to the trails at 10 ish.
Remember to pack a lunch and non alcoholic beverages for the trail.
For those who are reluctant to try the more serious trails there will likely be a scenic tour available.
There will be a BBQ at the main site at around 6:30 where you just need to bring an appetite.
Sunday will have more trails. The location for Sunday breakfast has yet to be determined but it may NOT be at the Kingston Diner this year.
Camping/trailer parking is available on site and will be dryer than the Labour Day Rally at Con's farm
Any questions please PM me.
cost is $25 a head to cover expenses.

I plan on attending this year, as I regret missing last year.

John,

Are you in need of paper plates, cutlery, cups, napkins etc etc for this year? If so, don't buy... I have some in stock.

Hoping to make it this year. Lauren and I are leaving for London day so it depends on how much money we spend and how tired we are after.

Unfortunately we are not going to be able to attend this year

The goddess truck is still on the hoist and needs extensive work to be completed before we can drive it .

I found a double fist size hole in the chassis yesterday when we were pulling out the transfercase

I also still need to tear the front axle apart and finish all the brakes when the parts come in

Next year for sure

It's getting very close!!

I'm off on Friday so I think I may take a bit of a scenic tour through the Valley on the way up. Hope the weather is good. I spent 8 hours freezing on a lake today and am ready for some sun.
