I would like to attend the event this year, but, can not attend for the whole week. What's the best weekend to attend for trail driving.

Hi!
I would say for sure the first one.
The second weekend, everybody is tired after a week of fun and kids want revenge on us!

To all of you, our friends!

The arrangements are being made for the Pierre Gauthier event, from the 7th to the 14th of August, this year, in Sainte Thècle, in Mauricie. (3 hours from Quebec city, north-west)
The camping is fantastic, with all reserved sites under the trees, water and electricity on every site, giant wave pool, deer park and a lake where you can also swin on site!
You can go see the plan and pictures at www.domainedelaforet.com. (we have reserved the sites #74 to #93)
The regular rate is 34$ per night plus 4$ for the pool, but Francis Groleau did negociate a fix rate of 189$+tx for the entire week, including everything. For peoples who stay only for a few days, you might pay the regular rate but we will make sure you will have access to the extras for free.

The Pierre Gauthier event was created when our missed friend, Pierre, had the idea to create an event for familys, where kids and wifes would feel comfortable and welcome, but also where big kids with their trucks would enjoy! He also tought that if you have to drive for a day, lets stay for a week! The first one was held in Mount Radar in 2001.

We would love to have our friends from Nova Scotia with us for that week. Please, let me know if you will come and which days,  so I can reserve a site for you with us to be all together. You do not have to pay anything in advance, and if you decide to come at the last minute, there will be no problem.
Land Rovers are not compulsory, but Land Rover spirit is!

Bruce Fowler, Ben Smith, Craig Bauchman, Tony Smith, Steven Whur, Bill Nickson and many others have already confirmed. We also hope Paul-Andre Fournier will come.
I have at this time 14 sites reserved on the 19 that were put apart for us.

All that to say you are welcome in Quebec this summer my friends!
That event is mainly organised by Francis Groleau, with the help of Éric Bouchard and Gilbert Doyle. Thanks to them!

If you want to know more about the event, pictures from past years or see the trails scouting they did for this year, go on facebook, "evenement Pierre Gauthier".

Francois Kirouac, for Francis, Eric and Gilbert.

I picked up the potato canon parts this morning

going to assemble it on your side of the border....

Maybe raffle it off or give as a rover polo prize.

Don't really want to bring it back across.

Hi Everybody,

I'm Pierre Luc, Paul-André Fournier's son. (You know the Land Cruiser guy...) My father have a real "bad" influence on me so I now own a trail ready Land *****er.

I've met some of you in the 2001 (Le Radar & St-Luc) & 2002 (L'enfer (The Hell)) Canada day event and at the 2002 Winter Romp. I've contacted Iorek this week, block my agenda and I'm glad I can join you at the Evénement Pierre-Gauthier 2010. I can only afford to be in for the first week end. Sucks to be an overpass re-construction superintendant in a collapsing overpass province.   DOH!

I'm working hard on Paul to have him join the fun.

I can't wait to see again all the nice Rover chaps met on previous events. I know it's gonna be awsome!

Is there a trail scheduled on the first Saturday? Maybe I'll get to Ste-Thècle Fryday night to be allready to hit the trail.

Hi PL!

I'm pretty sure there we'll go out saturday afternoon!  A few people will be there only for the first week-end so we'll make sure they can also enjoy the trails.

Don't worry; we've been scouting for a few week-ends now and we have plenty of options.     PLUS: most of the trails are located pretty close to the campground.

As for myself, I have yet to decide if I'm gonna be on site friday night... But so far the plan is we hit the road on saturday morning. (Eric B. we'll probably be there on friday night).

Looking forward to meeting you!

Francis

For those of you coming to the event... We tough this would make a great souvenir... Only 15 available, made from very resistant polycarbonate-high-density-kind-of-material... On sale for one easy payment of 8$ (maybe even less).  NO shipping and handling!!!

Our trucks will look amazing with it on the roof rack!
