Mine is up to 432K now, I just redid the suspension bushings in the front end with Audi TT parts for 150 bucks, drives like a race car, got 1327 kms out of a tank a few weeks ago driving like a senior citizen!

Other than alternator issues (cheap rebuilt one that died soon after) it's been rock solid and 1000% reliable. Also, I figured out a way to unstick the turbo by using OVEN CLEANER! 5 bucks and it works great!

Go TDI

225k on my 02 Golf..........was it the actual turbo or the VNT that was unstuck using oven cleaner?  What exactly did you do?
Thanks

There are several articles on tdiclub about the Easy Off fix.

JL, can you give some more info on what you used and where you got the parts etc? I think I have some bushings out on the right front.

Yep it's all on TDI club. Way easier than pulling the whole turbo.

Have you looked into Roseland Technical in NS? I buy my parts from a local VW parts place, but if Roseland took credit cards or was closer I would buy from him. I think he stocks the TT bushings and has them listed for 20 bucks each. My cost in Ottawa is about 30, so they are a good deal.

Roseland is my Fire Chief's son-in-law in Stewiacke, just up the road from me. He does a very good business at a fairly good prices.

Yeah, I've bought a skid plate and some filters from Brian. I need to call him again as I need to do an oil change this weekend.
