I am looking for topo maps of NS Digital or paper form anyone out there know of any sources? or point me in the right direction

Or if anyone has any GPS coordinates of backcountry roads would be appreciated. I have been exploring the eastern shore area for woods roads found some great roads but nothing really long enough. although I did find a great RTV COurse/PIT lots of mud and water... Drive out main Street which turns into the highway 7, take exit 21 hang a right and a quick left up a dirt road you will pass two homes continue on about a quarter mile on the gravel road, its on your right, great spot to test you LRs capabilities.

try this  http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/

http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/IbycusTopo21iso.zip (3 Gb)

Compatible with mapsource and garmin GPS.

it's not perfect, but free and reliable. We have used it last summer.

Other source from 1:30 000 000 Atlas of Canada Base Map

If you like paper maps as I do, you can get Natural Resources Canada topo maps (1:50,000 with 10m contour intervals -- cover about 30x40km each) at TAO in Bayers Lake for $13 each.  Last I was in, they had the big index book and all the maps for NS all rolled up and ready to go.  My LR3 "off-road GPS" is nice, too, but I find that there are some streams and even lakes missing so I still like to have the paper.  (Big Indian Lake up in Bowater lands is a pretty big lake to not have on your GPS!)

I digress...  Paper rules!
